Annual AHS Beauty Walk Slated
Be sure to mark your calendars for the annual Ardmore High School Beauty Walk. The competition for grades 6-12 is set for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2007, in the AHS gymnasium. Contestant entry forms will be available on Tuesday, February 6 in the AHS office.


Giles County Hope House Offers Savings While Helping Others
Many good used items are offered for sale at The Giles County Hope House’s yard sale store in Pulaski. A non-profit organization, The Giles County Hope House comes to the aid of battered women/men and their children. Primary support comes from the warehouse (yard sale store) where used goods that are donated by friends and neighbors are sold.


YCS Subscriptions Available To Soldiers In Combat Zones
YOUR COMMUNITY SHOPPER, with the help of a generous donor, is offering subscriptions to soldiers who are serving our country in combat zones.


Local Schools Earn Extra Cash With Box Tops
Everyone is encouraged to help our local schools by saving box tops for education. Several area schools are participating in the Box Tops For Education program to earn money for their schools.




Tigers Receive Honors
Derrick Green, Duron Robinson and Landon Curtis were included when THE DECATUR DAILY named their Class 4A-6A All-Area Football Team.


Senior Lady Tigers Honored
Courtney Browning and Amy Collier were named to the second team when THE NEWS COURIER recently announced their All-Area Volleyball Team. All five Ardmore seniors received recognition as Ashton Smith, Chelsea Blakely and Lauren Atchley received honorable mention recognition.



Tigers Take Championship At Elkmont
The Ardmore Tigers defeated Elkmont 71-45 Saturday to win the championship of the 3rd Annual Elkmont Lions Club Invitational Tournament. On the way to the title Ardmore defeated Lauderdale County 61-57 on Thursday, West Limestone in overtime Friday 54-48 and the host team on Saturday.


Sanderson Approaches Coaching Milestone
When the Ardmore Tigers take to the hardwood Friday night at Clements, the Tigers will be playing with an added incentive. Not only will the Varsity Boys’ Team be competing against a county rival, they will also be participating in a milestone game in Head Coach Mike Sanderson’s 20-year career.


Talkin' Baseball
Evidently the Chicago Cubs are not content to repeat the disaster that befell the hapless team in 2006. The Hot Stove League, as a whole, has been pretty warm. However, the Cubs’ front office has been on fire, throwing cash at players like there was no tomorrow.
