Tigers Receive Honors Derrick Green, Duron Robinson and Landon Curtis were included when THE DECATUR DAILY named their Class 4A-6A All-Area Football Team. Green, a first team selection to the offensive team, led Ardmore in rushing with 1,629 yards. He scored 20 touchdowns on 210 carries while averaging 7.8 yards a carry. He also averaged 33 yards per kickoff returns. Green is a junior. Robinson, selected to the first defensive team, was a standout at free safety for the Tigers. He was a solid receiver catching 25 passes for 305 yards. He scored two touchdowns on receptions and two on kickoff returns. Robinson is a junior. Curtis, also a junior, gained valuable playing time on both sides of the football. Elkmont’s Tim Woolridge was selected to the THE DECATUR DAILY All-Area Offensive team. Woolridge, a senior, is considered one of the top blocking tight ends in the area. He also had 27 reception for 420 yards and four touchdowns this season. Other Limestone Countians chosen to that first team are Cody Arnold, Jesse Cobb, Josh Cooper and Jeremy Craig of Clements. Tanner Rattlers named to that team include Tim Mason, Matt Smith, Rod Byrd and Jarquise Peoples. Rattlers named to the All-Area Defensive Team were George Adams and Amos Draper. Brad Smith of Clements was included on that squad. Players receiving honorable mention status are: Ardmore - Will Lewis, Jarrod Mullins, Tavo Sanchez, Jake Stagner; Clements - Michael Clemons, Bradley Hubbard, Michael Moss, Rehard Russell, Caleb White; Elkmont - Chris Barnett, Michael McMunn, Chance Newby; Tanner - Demarcus King, Keith Shoulders; West Limestone - Palmer Askew, Austin Gilliam, Wesley Hughes, Tommy Reyer, Keith Shoulders. |
