The Ardmore Public Library would like to publicly announce that three new computers from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation arrived at the library at the end of last year. Even if you don’t use a computer personally, having local access is increasingly becoming necessary. The library had over 7,649 computer usages in 2006 which more than double over the previous year. Currently, all nine public computers are using Windows XP Operating Systems and are connected to both a black and white printer and a colored printer which comes out to either 25 cents or $1.00 per copy. Ardmore Public Library would like to encourage you to take the time to stop by and check out the new computers because you won’t be disappointed. Yet, please remember that the computers are usually busy from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. every day when the school age children and youth are using them so the time limit of 30 minutes might be inforced. Another donation by a patron provides the library with more DVDs. Among these donations are “Along Came Polly,” “The In-Laws,” “The Village,” “The Order,” and four episodes of Irwin Allen’s “Lost in Space.” DVDs and VHS movies are now one week check-outs.
