Giles County High School And Martin College To Hold Meth Education Programs
As part of a statewide effort to educate school-age children about the nationwide epidemic of methamphetamine use, David Parnell, a Tennessee resident and meth survivor, will lecture in Giles County, giving his firsthand experiences with the deadly drug to all 900 students who attend Giles County High School.

Improvements At Alabama Park Continue
Area residents will soon have access to expanded and improved facilities at the Alabama Park, thanks in large part to the ongoing efforts of the Town of Ardmore, AL Town Council and the Street Department.

Wallace Honored For Years Of Service At Piney Grove
Piney Grove Baptist Church honored Larry Wallace, minister of worship, on Sunday, January 1, for ten years of excellence in the music ministry. Wallace was presented a framed certificate as an expression of the church's appreciation for his dedication, musical gifts, and leadership ability. Wallace leads an effective music program including children's choir, youth choir, and chancel choir.

Joint Council Addresses Important Issues In 2005
Calendar year 2005 was a busy 12 months for the Joint Council of the Town of Ardmore, AL Town Council and the City of Ardmore, TN Board of Mayor and Aldermen. As the year progressed, the joint council worked diligently to solve issues that transcended the state line and affected citizens of both states.


Lady Tigers Hammer Lady Red Devils
Ardmore High School's Varsity Girls' Basketball Team visited Elkmont on Tuesday, January 3 to take on the archrival Lady Red Devils. The Lady Tigers, playing spirited offense and solid defense, put together four good quarters of basketball and came away with an impressive 53-17 road win.

Ardmore Tigers Top Clements In Thriller
Ardmore High School's gymnasium was rocking last Friday night, filled with fans who turned out hoping to see a competitive basketball game between the host Tigers and the visiting Clements Colts.
AQBC To Honor Senior Football Players
The Ardmore Quarterback Club will host Senior Football Night Thursday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the First National Bank Community Center. The club will be serving pizza and cake in honor of the Senior football players. Judge Mike Davis will be the speaker.

Lady Tigers Drop Two
Although the Ardmore High School Varsity Girls' Baskeball Team continues to show improvement with each game, the Lady Tigers suffered two tough losses last week against a pair of talented teams.
Tigers Record Two Impressive Road Wins
Ardmore High School's Varsity Boys' Basketball Team took to the road last Tuesday and Thursday night. On Tuesday, the Tigers took the short trip to Elkmont to take on the arch rival Red Devils. On Thurday evening, Ardmore ventured north to tangle with the Richland Raiders.
Talkin' Baseball
When it comes to wacky superstitions, rituals and odd habits, baseball players are without second. Some rub their bats with strange concoctions, some will go twenty feet out of their way to step on a particular base when going on or off the field, and others insist on eating certain foods prior to the game.
