Soldiers Need Our Support

There are many ways that we can support our soldiers. Sometimes just a friendly note or some news from home means a lot to these soldiers who are far away from their families.

Marines and sailors who have been wounded return stateside to Bethesda Hospital where they recover and receive rehabilitation. The Marine Liaison at Bethesda Hospital has requested that people send “Thinking of You” cards to be distributed to these recovering soldiers.

Sending “Thinking of You” cards for these soldiers to receive with a brief message of appreciation would be a great project for churches, clubs, groups and individuals. This would give encouragement to those who have served our country to protect our freedom.

Please send cards to:

A Recovering Sailor or Marine

National Naval Medical Center

Marine Corps Liaison Center

8901 Rockville Pike

Bethesda, MD 20889-560T

Subscriptions to YOUR COMMUNITY SHOPPER are also being offered free of charge to soldiers who are serving our country in combat zones. This project is made possible with the help of a generous donor.

Those who have family members currently stationed outside the United States in combat zones may submit the soldier’s military mailing address to YOUR COMMUNITY SHOPPER and a subscription will be sent to that soldier at no charge to the family or the soldier. The complete military address should be typed or printed clearly and mailed to P.O. Box 249, Ardmore, TN 38449 or brought to the office of YOUR COMMUNITY SHOPPER, 26297 Saving Center Drive (behind Piggly Wiggly). Please indicate that the address is for a “Combat Soldier”.

Everyone is encouraged to take the time to buy a card or to share a soldier’s address so that they may received some good news from home. This is a way of supporting the men and women who are serving our country.
