Lady Tigers Get Two Area Wins

Jennifer Mills led the Ardmore Lady Tigers to a pair of area wins last week. The Lady Tigers hit the road and defeated the Lady Tigers at Madison County last Tuesday 54-33 before traveling to Huntsville Friday to defeat Columbia 48-31.

Ardmore 48, Columbia 31

The Ardmore Lady Tigers never trailed Friday in their 48-31 win at Columbia. Jennifer Mills led the winners with 15 points, eight of those from the charity stripe.

Seven other Lady Tigers scored as they scored the first five points of the area contest.
Ardmore led 11-6 after one quarter and 21-13 at the half.

Shannon Fogg scored the first four points of the second half and Mills hit a pair of free throws before Columbia could score. The game was never in doubt after that.

Fogg hit a 3-pointer to end that quarter. Ardmore led 32-23.

Five different players scored as Ardmore scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter. Courtney Pettus, Fogg and Hailey Drake added six points each for the winners. Brittany Miles had five points, Landria Curtis four for Ardmore while Aarika Boggs and Jennifer Ratley scored two points each.

Kim Pointer led Columbia with 10 points.

Ardmore 54, Madison County 33

A pair of unanswered scoring runs in the third quarter proved the difference when Ardmore defeated Madison County 54-44 in a battle of the Tigers last Tuesday.

Leading 25-15 after two quarters, Ardmore scored the first 10 points of the third quarter to lead by 20. They also scored eight of the last 10 points that quarter.

Miles led the winners with 16 points while Brittany Miles scored 12, Hailey Drake had eight points and Shannon Fogg six for Ardmore. Aarika Boggs scored three as Courtney Pettus and Lauren Atchley scored two points each.

Mills had three 3-pointers for the winners and Boggs one.
