Junior Lady Tigers Win One, Lose One

It was a win and a loss for the Ardmore Junior Lady Tigers as the cage season winds down. Ardmore fell at East Limestone 37-25 before defeating Elkton 37-14.

Ardmore 45, Elkton 21

Seventh graders only played when Elkton invaded the Ardmore gym last Thursday. When the final horn sounded the Lady Tigers came out the winner 37-14.

Nine Lady Tigers scored in the win with Ashley Miles leading the way with eight and Sara Wales six. Scoring five points each for Ardmore were Callie Bryant and Kelsey turner as Nikki Clark and Kelsey Gilbert each added four. Scoring two points each for the winners were Bryanna Free, Maggie Mitchell and Sam Taylor as Jenson Kirby added one.

Markeyta Bledsoe scored four points for Elkton while Roxie Edmonson and Haley Woods scored three points each. Carley Thompson and Ashley Kelley each hit a 2-pointer for the Lady Elks.

The score was knotted at 5-5 before Ardmore scored the next 11 points.

East Limestone 37, Ardmore 25

The East Limestone Junior Lady Indians used a strong second half to defeat the visiting Junior Lady Tigers of Ardmore 37-25 last Monday.

The Lady Tigers did not shoot a free throw in the second half as East Limestone connected on 10-of-their-18 attempts.

Brittany Brown hit a 3-pointer for Ardmore in the third quarter to tie the score at 16-16. The Lady Indians scored the next 10 points. Five of East’s final seven points came from the charity stripe.

Ashley Miles and Brittany Brown scored six points each for Ardmore as Kelsey Gilbert added five. Emily Faulkner had four points for the Lady Tigers as Elizabeth Hodges added three and Callie Bryant one.

Ebony Pride, who scored in each quarter, led the winners with 15.
