Tennessee Board Approves Committee Appointments
The City of Ardmore, TN Board of Mayor and Aldermen, meeting in the first session of 2006 last Thursday night, considered and voted on the appointment of city officials and committee assignments.

Former Town Councilman "Chuck" Buchanan Dies
Long time area resident and former Town of Ardmore, AL Councilman Charles "Chuck" Buchanan died on Friday, January 13, 2006 in Mobile, Alabama. Buchanan was 66.

Tucker Runner-Up For Achievement Award
Winners of the American Farm Bureau Federation's Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award were announced during the organization's 87th Annual Meeting, held at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville last week.

City Of Ardmore Mayor And
Aldermen Begin New Terms

City of Ardmore, TN Mayor Bobby Hastings, along with three aldermen, were sworn in for new four-year terms at a ceremony held prior to the scheduled meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen last Thursday night. The meeting took place in the City of Ardmore, TN City Hall Annex.

Elkton Alderman Sam Turner Involved In Fatal Accident
City of Elkton Alderman Sam Turner died last Thursday, January 12 in an auto accident on Highway 31 in Elkton. Turner, a long time area resident, was 70.


Tigers' Surge Continues With Win Over Trojans
Athens Bible School came calling at Ardmore last Tuesday night and encountered a Tiger team that is much improved over the squad that took to the hardwood early in the season. Playing inspired offense and solid defense, the Tigers came away with a 63-34 win.
Lady Tigers Rip ABS
Ardmore High School's Varsity Girls' Basketball Team hosted the visiting Lady Trojans from Athens Bible School last Tuesday night in a county contest. Riding an explosive offense and solid defense, the Lady Tigers came away with an impressive 64-46 win.
Taylor Receives Award
Sara Jo Taylor has been named the Athens Limestone Hospital Student Athlete of the Month for January. Sara Jo is a senior at Ardmore High School. She has been on the basketball team at Ardmore since the seventh grade.
Tigers Drop Heartbreaker To LCHS
Ardmore High School's Varsity Boys' Basketball Team entertained the visiting Lawrence County Red Devils last Friday night in an important Class 4A, Area 14 contest. In a game that saw numerous lead changes, clutch performances by several players and a controversial call by the officials, Lawrence County eventually won by a score of 71-69.
Lady Tigers Fall To Lawrence County
Lawrence County High School's Lady Red Devil Basketball Team came calling on the AHS Lady Tigers last Friday night in a key Area 14 match up. Although Ardmore played a strong first quarter, the Lady Tigers were unable to withstand a potent offensive assault by Lawrence County and eventually came out on the short end of a 63-46 score.
