This week's Passing Parade is a picture made at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. O.P. Gray. The picture was taken about 1880. Mrs. Gray was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Riley Smith. O.P. Gray was the son of Rev. Jacob Gray, minister of the Liberty Baptist Church of Christ and minister of the Prospect Baptist Church of Christ. They had two sons, William Riley Gray who married Oma Locker and Edgar Gray who married Mattie Florence McCormick.

Rev. Jacob Gray was a Confederate soldier in the Civil War. David Milam was a great speaker at the Confederate meeting at Rachel's Restaurant.

David Milam liked my cat story in the SHOPPER. When the SHOPPER comes, the cat gets in my lap. He loves Liberty News. When I go out a door, he has to go out first and what I eat he wants part of it. They say a cat has nine lives and this cat has at least a dozen lives.
