Tigers Fall At Tanner

A second quarter characterized by cold shooting and turnovers proved difficult to overcome for the Ardmore Tigers last Friday night on the road at Tanner. Trailing by seven, 19-12, heading into the second stanza, the Tigers could only muster seven points on offense before the half and went on to fall to the Rattlers by a score of 65-54.

Rod Byrd set the tone for Tanner in the first quarter, putting in 11 points. Michael Faulk was also hot for the Rattlers, netting eight points for the Rattlers. Although Will Lewis hit a trey and a field goal for Ardmore, it was not enough to overcome the early quick strike by Tanner.

The Tigers' only points in the second stanza came on treys from Matthew Clem and Landon Taylor, and a free throw from Eric Atchley. Tanner led 33-19 heading into the locker room at intermission.

Ardmore's offense awakened somewhat in the third period. Clem hit three field goals and

Charlie Deffenbaugh netted a shot from three-point range. Jake Stagner also drained a two-pointer and hit a pair of shots from the charity stripe. In the final stanza, Taylor hit a pair of treys and a field goal and teammate Atchley hit a field goal and four free throws. Still, the Tigers couldn't overcome the Rattlers, who remained undefeated in county play.

Taylor led Ardmore with 11 points. Faulk led all scorers with 24 points.
