Dorothy Mae Hargrove

Dorothy Mae Hargrove, 66, of Sand Springs Road, Athens, AL, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 2, at 2 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Joel Logan officiating. Burial was in the Sardis Springs Cemetery in Athens with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge.

Dorothy Mae Hargrove was born in Pettusville, AL, on March 19, 1940 to William Lee Wray and Velma Elizabeth Harris Wray. She was a lifelong resident of Limestone County and a member of Sweet Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Aaron Hargrove of Athens, AL; sons, Michael Joe Hargrove, Garry Glenn Hargrove, Sr. and Douglas Ervin Hargrove all of Athens, AL and Aaron C. Hargrove of Ardmore, TN; one sister, Bertha Mae Wray Lewter of Athens, AL; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Eric Broadway, Garry Hargrove, Jr., Jason Scott, Bob Wrench, Danny Chambers, Rocky Green and Ken Swanner.


John V. Collins, Jr.

John V. Collins, Jr., 55, of Pulaski, TN, died Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Maury Regional Hospital, Columbia, TN.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 29, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery with Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents, John Venson Collins and Emma Dell Roberson Stephenson.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Ramsey Collins of Pulaski; daughter, Cynthia Krause and husband Tony of Pulaski; son, John Brian Collins of Pulaski; grandson, Will Krause of Pulaski; sisters, Vaneita Stockton of Mobile, AL, and Nannette Ebert of Lawrenceburg; brothers, Harold Stephenson of Elkton, and Joseph Micah Stephenson of Falkville, AL.


Charles Melvin Holt

Charles Melvin Holt, 72, of Elkmont, died Friday, January 26, 2007, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 29, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Steve Ferguson officiating. Burial was in the Hodges Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in charge.

Charles Melvin Holt was born June 2, 1934, to Bob Holt and Anna Will Gilbert Holt in Limestone County. He was a member of the Elkmont Church of Christ and retired from Sunbeam Bread Company after 42 years. He was employed at L & S Food Market in Ardmore. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gilbert Holt and Sydney Holt; and one sister, Bobbie Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Holt of Elkmont; one son, Charlie Holt of Elkmont; daughters, Charlsa Greenhaw, Sherry Murphy, and Teresa Holt all of Athens, Vickie Thornton of Elkmont, Cindy Adams of Florence, Beth Major of Canton, GA; brothers, David Holt of Elkmont, Layne Holt of Elkmont; sisters, Phyllis Herrod of Antioch, TN, Gayle Lanier of Athens; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Kevin Greenhaw, Chad Greenhaw, Ryan Murphy, James Thornton, Alex Adams, Jim Major and Colin Major.

Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters, Stacey Townsend, Amanda Rickard, Alisha Howell, Allison Murphy, Anna Adams and Carly Major.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County and the Birdie Thornton Center.


Duaine Williford

William Duaine “Juicy” Williford, 66, of Railroad Street, Ardmore, TN, died Tuesday, February 6, 2007, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation of Ardmore.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Thursday, February 8, at 11 a.m. at Prosperity Cemetery in Fayetteville, TN. Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Duaine, affectionately known as “Juicy”, was born in Ardmore, TN, on May 16, 1940 to Tom Williford and Mary Ruth Reynolds Williford. He was a lifelong resident of Ardmore and was of the Church of Christ faith. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include cousin, Tinker (Diane) Reynolds of Ardmore, TN; special friend, Wanda Kimbrough of Madison Cross Roads, AL; cousins, Paul Reynolds of Elkton, TN; Andrea (Jason) Cross of Hazel Green, AL, Casey and Eli Cross; and Ronnie Garon Reynolds of Ardmore, TN.

Pallbearers will be Jim Cooper, Mike Cooper, Cornelius Rich, Ricky Mitchell, Paul Reynolds and Ronnie Reynolds.
