Lady Tigers Get Two Wins

West Morgan and Priceville were the latest victims of the Ardmore Lady Tigers as they prepare for post season play. Ardmore defeated the Priceville Lady Bulldogs 69-55 last Tuesday at home and then hit the road to West Morgan Friday returning with a 58-36 win over the Lady Rebels.

Ardmore 58, West Morgan 36

Jennifer Ratley had the hot hand when the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Rebels at West Morgan 58-36 last Friday. Ratley, the only Lady Tiger in double digits, finished with 17 points.

Ardmore allowed the first basket and scored 10 consecutive points before the host team scored the final two points of that quarter from the free throw line.

Ardmore outscored West Morgan 15-11 in the second quarter. The Lady Tigers hit all four of their free throw attempts.

Jennifer Mills and Shannon Fogg combined for seven unanswered points to begin the third quarter. After allowing a basket, Ardmore scored six unanswered points. In that run, Fogg, Hailey Drake and Landria Curtis all scored.

Ten of Ardmore’s fourth quarter points came from the charity stripe as they made good 10-of-14 attempts.

Ratley had scoring help from Fogg who finished with 12 while Brittany Miles scored eight. Curtis scored four as Mills and Christina Covington scored three each. Scoring one point each for Ardmore were Brittany Brown, Callie Steadman and Callie Bryant.

Seventh grader Hayden Hamby led West Morgan with 11 points.

Ardmore 58, Priceville 55

The Ardmore Lady Tigers avenged a loss to the Lady Bulldogs of Priceville with a 58-55 win last Tuesday. Fourth quarter free throws proved the difference for the winners. Their last seven points came from the free throw line.

Courtney Pettus’ 3-pointer that ended the third quarter gave Ardmore their largest lead of the second half, 52-45. The next five Ardmore points came from the charity stripe.

In the fourth quarter, Ardmore hit 10-of their-16 one-point tries.

Jennifer Mills led the winners with 16 points as Brittany Miles had 12 and Pettus 11. Hailey Drake and Landria Curtis each scored six as Aarika Boggs and Shannon Fogg each scored three. Lauren Atchley added one for the Lady Tigers.

Melissa Johnson and Keila Hamilton scored 12 and 11 points respectively.
