This week in Tiger Tales, we have decided to randomly pick another word from the dictionary. So, in preparation for spring we have selected the world farkleberry. A farkleberry is a shrub or small tree of the heath family of the southeastern U.S. that has black berries with stony seeds. So if “supped” this spring, consider asking for a farkleberry at a local nursery to beautify one’s yard.

Justin Cross is the son of Tracy and Fran Cross. He is a member Skills USA, plays on the varsity soccer team, is the Tech School treasurer and is an active member of the Ardmore First Baptist Youth Department. Justin plans to study computer electronics in the future.

Chase Davis is the son of Lucrecia and Andy Davis. He is a member of VICA, and Skills USA. Chase plans to continue his studies as a precision machinist with a degree in machine tool technology.

Wesley DeFoe is the son of Phillip Defoe and Bobbie DeFoe. He plans to go to Full Sail and learn to be a video game designer.

Hailey Drake is the daughter of Jeff and Lisa Drake. She plays on the varsity basketball and soccer teams and is a member of FCA, Spanish Club, and FCCLA. Hailey plans to become a dental hygienist.

Tucker W. Duncan is the son of Julie Smith and Tad Duncan. He is a member of Spanish Club, the National Honor Roll and was on the 2006 History Tournament Team. He plans to attend the University of Alabama and major in marketing.

Nicholas Cain Franklin is the son of Jamie Franklin and Tim Franklin. He is a member of the National Congressional Youth Leaders, The University Drive Coffee Club, and Spanish Club. He is also a Junior Beta Volunteer. Nick plans to further his education into the field of computer engineering.

We would like to remind everyone that the Ardmore High School Tiger Band will travel to Decatur High School on February 16th to compete at the district level in class DD. The band will perform at 11:30 a.m. We encourage everyone to come out and support our band. We would also like to congratulate all the senior basketball players that were recognized Tuesday night and praise their commitment to their teams. The Tiger basketball teams will begin their area play this week.
