Town Of Alabama Council Meets
Mayor Eugene Shannon called the February meeting to order at 6:30 Monday night in the conference room at town hall. He opened with a word of prayer, followed by roll call.


AL/TN Joint Council Meeting Held
Mayor Eugene Shannon called the joint meeting of the Alabama and Tennessee Councils to order at 7 o’clock in the Ardmore, AL Town Hall.



Blood Drive Planned February 21 & 22 In Athens
All eligible blood donors are encouraged to join LifeSouth Community Blood Centers and Athens-Limestone Hospital for a blood drive on Wednesday, February 21. The LifeSouth Blood Mobile will be accepting donations in the Emergency Department parking lot at 700 West Market Street in Athens from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.


Civitan To Honor Local Clergy
The Ardmore, AL/TN Civitan Club will honor the community’s ministers at the Annual Civitan Clergy Night Friday, February 16.


Elkmont 6th Grader to Attend Conference in Washington
Wes Isham, an Elkmont Middle School student, was one of many nominated to attend the Junior National Leadership Conference to be held in our Nation’s Capitol. Mrs. Tammy Hand nominated Wes for his outstanding leadership qualities in the classroom. Through the support of local businesses and donations, Wes will be spending six days in March on Capitol Hill.





Lady Tigers Advance To Regional Play
The East Limestone Lady Indians captured the Region 14-4A championship Saturday with a 58-46 win over the visiting Ardmore Lady Tigers. Ardmore advanced to the championship game after defeating Madison County 65-51 last Thursday.


Tigers’ Season Ends
A missed 3-point attempt at the buzzer ensured the East Limestone Indians of a 65-64 win over the Ardmore Tigers in the opening game of the Area 14 4A Tournament at Madison County High School last Friday. With the win the Indians advanced to the championship game Monday opposite Madison County, a 58-44 winner over Columbia. The loss ended the Tigers’ season.


Ardmore Will Face Lawrence County


Bulldogs To Begin Spring Practice
The Blanche Bulldogs football team will begin their Spring practice Tuesday, February 20, according to Head Coach Scott Woodfin.


Lady Tigers Fogg, Mills On All Season Area Team
Ardmore’s Shannon Fogg and Jennifer Mills were included on the nine-player All-Season Area 14 4-A Team when it was announced at the conclusion of the area tournament Saturday night.
