Elkton City Council Meets
The Elkton Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a two percent raise for city employees when they met in regular session Thursday, February 9 in Elkton City Hall. Alderman Carolyn Holt made the motion for additional money with a second from Alderman Roosevelt Whitfield. That will cost the city an additional $90.16 per week. Elkton Mayor Bill Ware pointed out it would not affect his salary or the salary of the aldermen.

Civitan Club Honors Local Pastors
Local pastors were feted with a delicious meal, catered by Sonny G's Bar-B-Que, last Thursday night, as the Ardmore Civitan Club held its annual Pastors' Appreciation Dinner.
Capt. Gary Daly Announces Candidacy For Limestone County Commission Seat

Anita Raby To Seek House Alabama District 5 Seat
Retired Limestone County educator Anita Raby has announced that she will be a candidate in the June 6 primary election for the Alabama House of Representatives. Raby will be a candidate for District 5, the seat currently held by veteran legislator Tommy Carter, who is retiring.


Ardmore High School Recognizes Seniors With Senior Night Celebration
Senior members of the Ardmore High School Varsity Boys' Basketball Team, Varsity Girls' Basketball Team and Varsity Cheerleading Squad were honored at a special Senior Night Ceremony, held between games at the school last Tuesday night.

Tigers Roll Over Richland Raiders
Riding a wave of deadly accuracy from three-point range, the Ardmore Tigers rolled to an impressive 69-38 win over the visiting Richland Raiders last Tuesday night. Surfing the crest of 13 treys, Ardmore's offense scored early and often.
Lady Tigers Fall Short Against Raiders
In a game that saw sluggish offense and stubborn defense by both teams in the first half, the Ardmore Lady Tigers eventually came out on the short end of a 45-32 score against the Richland Lady Raiders last Tuesday night.

With spring training just around the corner, I thought it might be interesting to take a look at how the season may be shaping up for the Atlanta Braves. After all, most fans in this neck of the woods root for the Braves through thick and thin.
RedHawks Split Opener
Martin Methodist College split its 2006 season opening double-header with Brescia University, winning the first game 10-9 in 12 innings and dropping Game Two 16-8. The games were held on February 4 at Speer Field at Sam Davis Park in Pulaski.
