Beta Club To Host LifeSouth Blood Drive By Patricia Coulter The Ardmore High School Beta Club members urge all eligible blood donors to donate blood Friday, Feburary 23, at the LifeSouth Blood Drive at the school. The LifeSouth Blood Mobile will be accepting donations from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. All donors will receive restaurant coupons, a recognition item and cholesterol screening. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 103 pounds, and show a valid photo id. The hospitals of North Alabama, including Athens-Limestone Hospital, are working with LifeSouth to ensure a stable blood supply. LifeSouth promises that all blood collected in North Alabama will stay in the region, unless supply exceeds demand. LifeSouth will also accept donations on Thursday, February 22 inside the Athens-Limestone Hospital’s Education Department, located near the Sanders Street entrance between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. LifeSouth is a non-profit, charitable organization that supplies blood components to more than 110 medical facilities in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
