Tigers Open Season At East Tournament

The Ardmore High School varsity baseball team began play this week in the East Limestone Pre-Season Baseball Tournament. The tournament began at 10 a.m. Monday and will conclude on Wednesday, February 28.
That is just the first of several games that appear on the schedule for Lee Walker’s Tigers.
The Tigers will play three consecutive home games March 1, 2 and 3. West Limestone, Clements and Athens will provide the opposition. A junior game will follow the first two games. Athens will be a varsity doubleheader.
The junior Tigers under the direction of Gary Pressley will participate in the West Limestone Junior Varsity Tournament March 3-6. Ardmore will host the county varsity tournament March 9-13.
The Tigers will hit the road for three games before returning home. On March 17 the Tigers travel to Huntsville to face Butler and to Pulaski to face Giles County on the 19th. On the 20th the Tigers travel to West Limestone to face the Wildcats.
A home twinbill is on tap for Thursday, March 22, when the Tigers entertain Tanner and Elkmont. On the 23rd it is a road trip to Clements.
The Tigers will entertain Giles County at noon on March 24th and then travel to Athens for a doubleheader, varsity and junior varsity at 4 p.m.
There is a pair of area games with Columbia on March 27 and 29. The Tigers host the Eagles on the 27th and travel to Huntsville on the 29th. Richland will provide the opposition on the 30th.
There are four area games slated for April. The Tigers face Butler at home in a non-area tilt on April 2nd. The Tigers host the East Limestone Indians on April 3rd and travel to East on the 5th for a pair of area games. Two roads are on slate before the final area contest. The Tigers will travel to Elkmont on the 6th and Richland on the 8th. Madison County and Ardmore will meet in the final home area contest on April 10 before Ardmore travels to Gurley for another contest with Madison County.
