Mrs. Julia Harvell, fifth grade teacher at Harvest Elementary School, was recently awarded the prestigious Veterans of Foreign Wars “Teacher of the Year” award. This award is presented annually to teachers in the elementary, middle school and high school categories. Entries are submitted by various schools in each category and are judged based on some strict criteria.
Mrs. Harvell was selected for the elementary category. She receives a certificate, a cash award, and becomes eligible to compete at the state and national level.
