Spring must be getting close. I have quiet a few Buttercups blooming in front of the house. And I thought March was roaring in last weekend, wasn’t it windy. But the weather forecasters are predicting March to officially roar in Thursday. Hoping all the cold weather, along with snow and ice are gone until next fall.

The Oak Grove Homemakers Club met at the home of Mary Ann Jacobs on the third Wednesday, February 21 for their regular monthly meeting, with nine members and visitor Minnie Self of Elkton. President Jeanette Davis called the meeting to order by reading the thought “If you need a helping hand, you will find it at the end of your arm”. Joyce Shawn led in the devotional, with a story about God and the spider using Matthew 7 & 8. The ladies sang “Victory in Jesus” followed by the pledge to the U.S. Flag. Secretary Mary Ann Jacobs called roll and read the minutes to last months meeting. Treasurer Clara Bumpus gave the treasurer’s report.

Business: project for February was Red Cross “comfort bags” 24 were turned in. A “Thank You” note was read from DHR. The project for March is to get items to fill the Hospice Wish List. Mrs. Jacobs served refreshments to those present concluded the meeting.

The next monthly meeting will be March 21 at the home of Mrs. Lewis Sammet at 9:30 a.m. Visitors and new members are welcome.

Second Friday in March, March 9, will be the German Town Cemetery Supper and annual meeting at the Oak Grove Community Clubhouse at 6:00 p.m.

Robert Lee Ferguson spent four days in the hospital with an infected little toe. He is home.
