Many big things have happened since you read our last article three weeks ago. Our Scholar's Bowl competed in Hanceville. EHS hosted the area tournament and a congratulations goes out to those who participated. We are also proud of our student section known as "The Crew" for cheering them on! Many students participated in the Job Shadowing Program and we would like to thank Cluxton's and Limestone Farmers Co-Op for letting us Job Shadow them. The hallways of Elkmont were a little different last week due to it being National FFA week. On Wednesday, FFA T-shirts were worn and on Thursday, everyone was arrayed in their camo. On Friday, we held our first annual Muddy Truck Contest. We would like to say "Good Job" to all of those who participated! Bobby Barton received the First place ribbon, Victor James placed Second place, and Brad Brazeal was in Third place. On Friday, you would have found many of our Ag students, including us, at the Cotton and Gin Show in Memphis, TN.

In this week's Senior Preview, we introduce to you Cody Brown, Mike Ferrazas, Mindy Holmes, and Kami King.

Cody Brown is the son of Mike & Vickie Brown. He is a member of VICA. He played football for three years, also. He was a member of the FFA for two years.

When not in school, he enjoys target shooting, fishing, and hunting. Cody also enjoys working on cars in his spare time. After high school, he plans on being a part of the Airborne Rangers in the Army. His advice for the lower classmen was to do your homework. Cody says that he will miss tech school the most after high school.

Mike Ferrazas is the son of Mike & Donna Ferrazas. In high school, Mike was part of football, weightlifting and the track team. His hobbies and interests include playing games and learning about new technologies. His future plans are to become a computer technician.

Mindy Holmes is the daughter of Randy & Charlotte Holmes. In high school, she was a member of the EHS color guard. She went to tech school, was a member of the FCCLA and HOSA, and was also a teacher's aid. Some of her hobbies and interests include spending time with her family, friends, and her boyfriend. After high school, she plans on going to college to be a pediatric nurse. One of her favorite memories at EHS is performing at half time in the color guard. Her advice for her lower classmen is to have dedication and to never quit.


Mindy Holmes

Kami King is the daughter of Trevor & Sheila Sambrano. She has been a member of the track team, FCCLA, the Science Club, and the school newspaper. She was also the junior class Treasurer and was part of the prom committee. She loves to cook and her hobby is staying fit. After graduation, Kami plans on going to a four or two year college.

Kami said that she will miss football games and homecoming events the most after graduating high school.
