William Thomas Baker, Jr.

William Thomas Baker, Jr., of Pulaski, TN, died Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Columbia Care & Rehabilitation Center in Columbia, TN.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 27, at 11 a.m. at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Burial was in the Leoma Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.

William Thomas (Tom) Baker, Jr. was born in Lawrence County, TN, on September 3, 1939. He was self-employed as a sheetrock hanger and served in the U.S. Navy. He was the son of the late William Thomas Sr. and Katie Mae Faulkner Baker.

Survivors include three sons, John Baker of Ardmore, TN, Mark Baker of Pulaski, TN, Jerry Baker and wife Charlotte of Pulaski, TN; four brothers, Calvin Baker of Lawrenceburg, TN, Robert Baker of Madison, AL, Daniel Baker of Georgia and David Baker of Pulaski, TN; one sister, Mary Bailey of Pulaski, TN; grandchildren, Jeremy, Zachary, Nicholas, and Jerry Wayne Baker.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Care Ministry.


Willard Wayne Sisco

Willard Wayne Sisco, 83, of 701 Orchard Drive, Fayetteville, TN, died Saturday March 3, 2007, at Vanderbilt Hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. David Sain and Bro. Richard Logan officiating. A private burial was held in the Riverview Memorial Gardens.

A native of Lincoln County, TN, he was the son of the late Lila J. and Mamie Jones Sisco and the husband of June Mitchell Sisco who survives. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was self-employed as a basketball official. Mr. Sisco was a veteran of the Air Force and was awarded 5 Battle Stars and a Bronze Star.

Survivors include his wife, June Mitchell Sisco; one son, Wayne Sisco of Hazel Green; two daughters, Kay Sisco of Maryville, TN, and Linda Wolaver of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Adam Sisco, Taran Wolaver, and Caitlyn Wolaver; brother, Troy Sisco; and four sisters, Rene Hopkins, Madeline Hickerson, Margaret Burr and Emagene Hopkins.

Bobby Joe Matheny

Bobby Joe Matheny, 59, of Mitchell Street, Ardmore, TN, died Monday, March 5, 2007, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation for Ardmore.

Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. No services are planned at this time.

Bobby Joe Matheny was born April 2, 1947 in Paris, TN, to J.B. Matheny and Henrietta Taylor Matheny. He has lived in this are for two years coming from Florida. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Evelyn Rushing.

Survivors include sisters, Vonnie Boren of Ardmore, TN, Pamela Ann Matheny and Deborah Sharon Reeves both of Lexington, TN; brothers, Donnie and Jerry Matheny of Ardmore, TN.


Phillip Michael Claunch

Phillip Michael Claunch, 47, of Highway 251, Ardmore, AL, died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, GA.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donald Clem and Bro. Wade West officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore.
