First American Bank Holds Ribbon Cutting For New Office At East Limestone
Jeff Hodges, Limestone County President for First American Bank and Jim Tompkins, Manager of the new First American Bank office at 27453 Capshaw Road, celebrated a Ribbon Cutting with the Limestone County Chamber of Commerce Friday, March 3, 2006.

Elkton, TN Mayor Suspends Street Department Employee
At Thursday's meeting of the Elkton Board of Mayor and Alderman, Mayor Bill Ware suspended the lone employee of the street department, Marie Russell until further notice. The mayor cited that Russell did not do what he directed her to. That charge included falsifying records kept in a log book that was to include a record of what she did each day and number of hours worked.

Lewter Selected For Presidential Classroom Delegate Program `06
Ardmore High School Senior Kyle Lewter has been selected to participate in the Leadership Through Learning Presidential Classroom Delegate program, to be held later this month in Washington, D.C.
Jerry Hill To Run For District 5 Seat
Jerry W. Hill, a life long resident of Athens and Limestone County has announced his candidacy for the District 5 Seat in the Alabama House of Representatives. Hill plans to enter the Republican primary in the 2006 election.
Boys And Girls Club Holds 7th Annual Dinner March 9
High winds and heavy rains did little to dampen the spirits of the large crowd that turned out last Thursday night for the Ardmore Boys and Girls Club 7th Annual Dinner. The event, held at the First Baptist Church, Ardmore Family Life Center, was a festive affair featuring great food and an abundance of community spirit.

Local residents are advised that the City/Town of Ardmore will be picking up large household trash items the week of March 20-24.


19th Annual Lady Tiger Invitational This Weekend
The Ardmore High School Varsity Girls' Softball Team will host the 19th Annual Lady Tiger Invitational Tournament this weekend, Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18 at John Barnes Park in Ardmore, TN.

Junior Tigers Split Double Header With Elkmont
Ardmore High School's Junior Varsity Baseball Team took to the diamond last Thursday, taking on the visiting Junior Red Devils from Elkmont. Both games were spirited contests.

Ardmore Lady Tigers Win Gulf Shores Tournament
The Varsity Lady Tigers Softball Team traveled to Orange Beach lat weekend to play in the Gulf Shores High School Invitational Tournament. Ardmore went undefeated in the tournament, as they picked up seven wins to capture a tournament championship for the second time. Ardmore brought in several big wins in pool play, before beginning the single elimination play on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Tigers picked up two big wins in tournament play, before advancing to the championship game. Ardmore beat the undefeated, home standing, Gulf Shores Lady Dolphins 2-0 to walk away with a 1st place trophy.
JV Lady Tigers Win Two
The Junior Varsity Lady Tigers Softball Team picked up two more season wins this week. On Tuesday, Ardmore defeated Elkmont 8-4 and East Limestone 8-3, in a double header at Elkmont. The Lady Tigers continue to show that they are a well rounded team in offense and defense.

Ardmore Masonic Lodge Hosts Turkey Shoot Saturday
Ardmore Masonic Lodge No. 24 will host a turkey shoot this Saturday, March 18 at 12:30 PM. The event will take place on Main Street in Ardmore, TN, across the street from Hobbs Furniture.

Talkin' Baseball
For the past two seasons, the St. Louis Cardinals have dominated the National League Central Division, but both times, came up short in the post season. In 2004, the Cards made it all the way to the Big Show before losing four straight to "Destiny's Team," the Boston Red Sox. Last season, after winning the division by 11 games, the Cardinals fell to the resurgent Houston Astros in Game Seven of the NLCS.
