Jerry Hill To Run For District 5 Seat

Jerry W. Hill, a life long resident of Athens and Limestone County has announced his candidacy for the District 5 Seat in the Alabama House of Representatives. Hill plans to enter the Republican primary in the 2006 election.

Hill, a veteran of 20 years service in the U.S. Army Special Forces, served in Viet Nam and was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, the Cross of Gallantry and other distinguished service awards. From 1979 until 2004, Hill served as a contract specialist, senior negotiator and contracting officer and supervisor for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal. Since his retirement, he has been serving as a volunteer for RSVP.

Hill has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Campbell College and a post-graduate certificate in Program Management. He earned his Masters of Administrative Science at UAH in 1979.

Hill served on the Athens City Council from 1986 through 1990.
