The Junior Varsity Lady Tigers Softball Team picked up two more season wins this week. On Tuesday, Ardmore defeated Elkmont 8-4 and East Limestone 8-3, in a double header at Elkmont. The Lady Tigers continue to show that they are a well rounded team in offense and defense.
Ardmore 8
Elkmont 4
The Lady Tigers racked up eleven hits in their 8-4 victory over the home standing Elkmont Lady Red Devils. Ardmore took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning of the ball game. The Lady Tigers picked up two more runs in the third inning, before Elkmont scored two runs of their own, bringing the score 5-2.
Ardmore made three big errors in the bottom of the fourth inning to allow Elkmont to come within one point of the lead. The Lady Tigers made up for their errors with the bats as they racked up three more runs, taking an 8-4 lead. Ardmore played tight defense in the bottom of the last inning to end the game with a victory.
Leading the Lady Tigers in hits was Kelsey Turner and Megan Brown each with two doubles and a single, along with Kelsey Gilbert with a double and two singles. Other hitters for Ardmore were Callie Steadman with a triple and Brittney Brown with a single.
Brittney Brown took the pitching win for Ardmore, striking out two batters, walking one, and allowing five hits. Callie Steadman was the catcher.
The Lady Red Devils picked up several hits as well. Biggerstaff led Elkmont with a double and a single. Ursery, Hogan, and McLemore each hit a double, while McElyea and McNatt each hit a single.
Thompson took the pitching loss for Elkmont, striking out four batters, walking one, and allowing six hits.

East Limestone 3
Ardmore's hitting did not cease in their next game as they picked up ten hits against East Limestone. The Lady Tigers began scoring in the top of the first inning, as they took a 2-0 lead. East fought back in the bottom of the inning scoring a run on an error.
The Lady Tigers continued to follow through with the bats as they scored six more runs throughout the game, to take an 8-1 lead. In the final inning of play, East racked up three hits to score two runs, but at the close of the game, Ardmore went home with a big 8-3 victory over the East Limestone Lady Indians.
Brittney Brown led Ardmore in hits with three singles, followed by Kelsey Turner with a double and a single. Other hitters for Ardmore were Amanda Ellis with a double, Megan Brown, Cherry Berry, Kelsey Gilbert, and Nikki Clark each with a single.
Callie Steadman took the win from the mound, striking out eight batters, walking two, and permitting six hits. Megan Honea served as catcher.
