Have you seen anything more beautiful than the sunshine? I have been ready for it. Buttercups have bloomed and the Bradford pears are blooming.

We enjoyed the month of February and had several good times and made memories. Home schoolers from Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee had a 3 day basketball tournament in Nashville. The CCA Varsity won second place to Atlanta’s first. CCA Jr. Varsity came in fifth. A good time was had by all. Jr. Varsity played and won their game in Franklin, TN at Currey Ingram Academy recently. Our granddaughter Rebekah played in that game. Anna Kathrine’s team won first place in a tournament two weeks ago by beating Holy Spirit. Anna is the youngest player on her team as she is fifth grade and others are 7th and eighth. She hits 3 pointers and steals the ball. Five year old Sarah and another little girl played on a boys team. She had so much fun. We are looking forward to next season.

Mrs. Doris Taft of Taft is out of the hospital and at her son’s in Nashville. Got a card from Alice Smith, she winters in Florida and we always s miss her. Remember Ora Ruth Shelton in your prayers as she is having difficult health problems.

Remember to support the American Cancer Society. The research,, development, education and all the other things they do has enabled some of us to become survivors. Breakthroughs are constantly happening. Their Relay for Life fundraiser is starting to kick off. Our county is usually very involved. You may look on the web if you have a computer, to learn more about the American Cancer Society. My pet project is telling about their Hope Lodge for those that have loved ones with cancer using the Nashville area hospitals and doctors. It is a wonderful place.
