Terry Announces Candidacy
Brian Terry has formally announced that he will be a
Democratic candidate for Alabama House of Representatives
District 5. Terry is a life-long resident of the District 5 area. |

Lee Announces Candidacy
R.E. "Bobby" Lee Jr. has announced his candidacy for
Giles County General Sessions/Juvenile Judge.

Kyle Helton Seeks Election
Kyle Helton, a 17-year veteran of law enforcement,
has announced that he will seek election to the office of
Giles County Sheriff. Helton is currently an officer with
the Pulaski Police Department, assigned to Giles County
High School as the School Resource Officer.

Ardmore Masons Express Gratitude
The Ardmore Masonic Lodge #24 recently expressed
thanks to the people and businesses of the Ardmore community
for their continued support. Masonic Lodges nationwide
donate over $2 million a day to different charities
including Children's Hospitals, Burn Centers, Widows and Orphans,
and others that are in need.

Toney UMC Offers Free Oil Change, Safety Check Sat.
In keeping with Christ's teaching that we should be
of service to members of our community, members of the
Toney United Methodist Church are offering a free oil change
and 10-point safety check this Saturday, April 1.
Blanche School Reunion Slated This Saturday
A Homecoming for all former Blanche High School students and teachers will
be held at Blanche School on Saturday, April 1, 2006. Anyone
who attended the school, whether they graduated or not, is
invited.

Booster Club Opening Day Ceremonies Friday
In what has become a much-anticipated annual event,
the Ardmore Booster Club will hold its Opening Ceremonies
for the 2006 season at John Barnes Park on Friday, March 31.
JV Lady Tigers Finish 3rd In Elkmont Tournament
The Junior Varsity Lady Tigers Softball Team
played four impressive games last weekend to finish third in
the Elkmont Invitational Tournament. Ardmore dropped a
4-3 game to Athens on Friday night in pool play. The
Lady Tigers defeated East Limestone 12-3 on
Saturday morning to wrap up pool play. Ardmore opened up
the single elimination play, by picking up a 12-1 victory
over Tanner, before falling 5-4 to West Limestone in the
semi-final game.

Annual Blanche Athletic Auction April 8
Blanche School's Athletic Department is preparing
for the 4th Annual Blanche Athletic Program Benefit
Auction. The event will be held Saturday, April 8 in
the Blanche School gym.
Falcons Defeat Bobcats
Lincoln County High School's baseball team opened its 2006 season
last week with an impressive 7-1 victory over visiting
Giles County.

Talkin' Baseball
I must admit that my mind is somewhat addled these days due to the
great basketball games that have been a part of March
madness. Still, I have been able to focus at least a
small amount of my attention on baseball and the
upcoming season.
