Brian Terry has formally announced that he will be a Democratic candidate for Alabama House of Representatives District 5. Terry is a life-long resident of the District 5 area.
"I am ready for this challenge to serve the great people of Limestone County," said Terry in announcing his candidacy. "I am ready to go to Montgomery and work for all citizens equally." I am willing to protect our citizens by supporting and maintaining existing and new industry. I am against the recent Supreme Court ruling on eminent domain. I am for bringing funding back from Montgomery to pave roads, improve government facilities, supply new equipment to our law enforcement and fire departments and I will support local projects of interest. I am against tax increases unless voted on and supported by the people."
For Terry, "community" is an important concept.

The community is more than bricks & mortars & services," said Terry. "The community is about the people. A good community, as we know, insures itself by trust, by good faith and good will, by mutual help and a belief in God Almighty. A good community, in other words, is a good local economy with caring people that trusts and lives by God's words. A community, when it is alive and well, is centered on the household, the family place and economy; and the household is centered on marriage and dedication."
Terry is a Design Drafting Instructor at Limestone County Career Technical Center and is currently President of the Limestone County Career Technical Association. He is married to Michelle Latimer Terry and has two children, Tyler and Lauren.
