Ardmore Masons Express Gratitude

The Ardmore Masonic Lodge #24 recently expressed thanks to the people and businesses of the Ardmore community for their continued support. Masonic Lodges nationwide donate over $2 million a day to different charities including Children's Hospitals, Burn Centers, Widows and Orphans, and others that are in need.

Recently the Ardmore Lodge held a bean day to raise money for local charities.

"We went to Marvin's Family Restaurant to see how much he would charge for the beans and all the fixings," said Troy Reed, treasurer of Ardmore Lodge #24. "We were shocked when owner Marvin Dale Cowan said there would be no charge, that he would donate all the food and drinks. Because of the support from people like this, it allows Masons to provide free treatment to those that need it at many burn centers and hospitals across the United States," Reed added. "We also provide Hospitality Houses near these hospitals to house the family members of those using the hospitals free of charge.

The Ardmore Lodge also held a Turkey Shoot Saturday, March 18. Several prizes were given including turkeys, turkey calls, decoys, turkey vests, a turkey blind and a turkey gun. The Lodge members expressed thanks to the community for supporting their past projects and encouraged everyone to continue to support the lodge as they raise funds for a scholarship program. Monies raised from the recent Turkey Shoot and upcoming fundraisers will go toward funding an annual scholarship for an Ardmore High School senior.
