McConnell To Speak About Methamphetamine
According to law enforcement officials and educators throughout the Southeast, the manufacture, use and abuse of methamphetamine continues to increase. Methampetamine abuse creates problems that have a ripple effect throughout all aspects of the community, particularly among youth groups.

Smith Named Miss AHS `06
Erica Smith was crowned Miss Ardmore High School at the conclusion of the 36th Annual AHS Beauty Walk on Saturday, April 1. She was selected from a field of 42 contestants, and crowned by Miss AHS 2005 Lacey Sanderson. Erica is the daughter of Benjamin Smith and Cindy Smith.

Tigers Nip Colts In Thriller
In a game featuring a little something for everyone including great pitching, clutch hitting, controversial umpiring calls and a coaching ejection, Tiger first baseman Kyle Smith delivered a two-out double to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to give Ardmore a 4-3 win over the visiting Clements Colts.
New Tiger Head Football Coach Is Tracy Malone
After a lengthy search process, Tracy Malone from Grayson High School in Grayson, Georgia has been named as the new Head Football Coach at Ardmore High School. The announcement of Malone's selection came at the Limestone County Board of Education meeting, held in Athens on Monday night, April 3.
Ardmore Booster Club Holds Opening Ceremony
Beneath colorful banners and bunting and clad in bright uniforms, young baseball and softball players gathered at John Barnes Park last Friday afternoon to take part in the Opening Ceremonies of the 2006 season, sponsored by the Ardmore Booster Club.
4th Annual Blanche School Athletic Auction Saturday
Blanche School's Athletic Department is preparing for the 4th Annual Blanche Athletic Program Benefit Auction. The event will be held this coming Saturday, April 8, at 5 PM in the Blanche School gym.

Lady Tigers Beat Athens, East Lawrence
The Varsity Lady Tigers Softball Team picked up two big wins last week in season play. On Tuesday, Ardmore pounded out eight hits, to defeat Athens 3-1 in extra innings. Then on Thursday, the Lady Tigers traveled to East Lawrence to play their first area game, bringing home a 3-0 victory.
Junior Varsity Lady Tigers Roll Past East Lawrence
The Junior Varsity Lady Tigers Softball Team picked up a big win last Thursday, as they rolled past East Lawrence 6-1. Ardmore racked up eight hits, while holding East Lawrence to one.

Talkin' Baseball
Late last week Florida Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria made the statement that talks with the City of San Antonio regarding relocating the team to Texas had "turned serious." As I heard of Loria's announcement I had mixed feelings.
