This week's Passing Parade picture is of two children who are dear to me. They are Kenny Hereford and sister, Patsy Hereford. They lived on the Old Huntsville Pike Road. Some state Kenny Hereford was named for his father, R.K. Hereford, and some say he was named after the Jack Benny Show star Kenny Baker.

Their mother, Nell Gray Hereford, taught school at Liberty, Flintville and Mary's Grove. She took an LPN class under Mrs. Margaret Salter, RN, and was a wonderful nurse and a great help in time of need. Kenny Hereford is head of the Locker Family Reunion. If you are related, let him know. My happy days were when I visited Kenny and Patsy Hereford.

I became very sick on March 4. I had a kidney stone and have been very sick since. The doctors seem to say that I am losing my battle with cancer. I have had it since 1990.

Three preachers came to see me. They were Billy Cole of Murfreesboro, TN, Doyle Wright who is with Assisted Living, and Ben Rutledge, minister of the Stoney Point Church of Christ.

My nurse, Willie Whitaker is here to help me as I need help. She is a great and precious nurse.
