Beverly Cleary, a famous writer of children's books, will be turning 90 in April and in celebration of her birthday, April 12 has been proclaimed as "Drop Everything and Read" day. Cleary has written over 39 books since 1950 and 92 million copies of her books have been sold worldwide. Her total five best sellers are `The Mouse and the Motorcycle,' `Ramona Quimby, Age 3,' `Runaway Ralph,' `Ramona and Her Father,' `Ralph S. Mouse,' and `Ramona the Pest.' All of Cleary's books are still in print and most of them can be found at your local library.

On April 5 at 10 a.m., April Tyler will be reading about caterpillars and butterflies from Eric Carle's books during Story Time. April 12 will be the children's Easter Party. Each child that attends needs to bring with them 5 plastic eggs with something in them (candy/toys) to use in the Easter Egg Hunt then each child should be going home with 5 eggs that contain prizes.

Friends of the Library will be meeting April 12 in the Annex Building for their regular monthly meeting. At 2 p.m., the Friends will have a "Spring Drop" Floral Arrangement Program with Stephanie Sanders of A&A Florist. This program will show you creative ways on how to arrange the flowers that you will be picking from your own garden this spring. Everyone is welcome to drop in on this wonderful program.
