McConnell To Speak
About Methamphetamine

by Dwight Turner

According to law enforcement officials and educators throughout the Southeast, the manufacture, use and abuse of methamphetamine continues to increase. Methampetamine abuse creates problems that have a ripple effect throughout all aspects of the community, particularly among youth groups.

In an effort to provide education about the ongoing problems associated with methamphetamine, Joyce McConnell, a special investigator with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, will give a special presentation at Ardmore High School on Friday, April 7. The special program will take place in the gymnasium at 1 PM.

McConnell has many years of experience in law enforcement and has had first hand experience with the problems associated with methamphetamine. Last year, McConnell made a presentation to the Ardmore Civitan Club that was highly informative and well-attended. According to AHS Principal Mike Owens, the public is invited to attend this special program. For further information, call AHS at 256-423-2685.
