Beneath colorful banners and bunting and clad in bright uniforms, young baseball and softball players gathered at John Barnes Park last Friday afternoon to take part in the Opening Ceremonies of the 2006 season, sponsored by the Ardmore Booster Club.

Jeff Hodges, serving as Master of Ceremonies, welcomed the large crowd that had gathered for the event and instructed the teams and coaches to assemble in the outfield for a parade and introductions.

Greg Reese, president of the Ardmore Booster Club, also welcomed those present and expressed the club's gratitude to the many individuals, business and groups that have made the Booster Club such a success over the years.
