Renaissance Faire Slated
The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce will host the 2007 Ardmore Renaissance Faire from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 21, and Sunday, April 22 at the Park Avenue site across from the Ardmore Boys and Girls Club.


Limestone Schools Kindergarten Pre-Registration Set
Pre-Registration for kindergarten students who will enter Limestone County Schools this will be begin Thursday, April 19. Parents whose children will enter the public kindergarten classes in Limestone County for the 2007-2008 school year are requested to pre-register the child at the school where the child will attend.


Students get opportunity of a lifetime
Four students from the Ardmore Tiger Band were chosen to represent their school in the wreath laying ceremony on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers while on their trip to Washington D.C. from April 18 through the 23.


City to purchase new “Welcome to Ardmore” signs
The City of Ardmore, TN Board of Mayor and Aldermen has authorized the purchase of three new “Welcome to Ardmore” signs, along with three state of the art trash receptacles, to be located at needed points throughout the city.


Town Okays Third Avenue Paving Project
The Town of Ardmore, AL Mayor and Town Council, meeting in scheduled session on Monday night, voted unanimously to accept a bid from Watkins Construction of Pulaski, TN for the paving of Third Avenue.


City Authorizes Issuance Of Capital Outlay Notes For City Hall Project
The City of Ardmore, TN Board of Mayor and Aldermen, meeting in scheduled session last Thursday night, voted to authorize the issuance of $300,000 in capital outlay notes, earmarked to fund the construction of a new city hall. The resolution (No. R 07-04-05) also contained provisions for the payment of said notes.

When THE DECATUR DAILY released the Class 4A-6A All-Area Basketball Team, five Ardmore players were included.


Ardmore’s Lady Tigers Stop County Foes
The Ardmore Lady Tigers defeated West Limestone twice and Athens Bible School once last week in sandlot action. Ardmore began the week with a 9-3 win at Athens Bible School, then traveled to West Limestone Tuesday picking up a 14-3 win and returned home Thursday with a 6-1 win over West.


Jacobs Named New Coach At Elkmont
Don Jacobs was named the new head football coach at Elkmont High School.


Tigers split area games
The Ardmore Tigers eeked out a 12-11 win at Elkmont late Friday to complete their fourth game in a five-day span. Earlier last week the Tigers defeated Butler 10-9 and split a pair of area games with East Limestone. On Tuesday the Indians stopped the Tigers in Ardmore 7-6 before Ardmore won at East Limestone last Thursday 6-4.

Talkin’ Baseball
Like most baseball fans, I am excited at the commencement of the new season. This time each year my pulse beats just a little bit faster as I check the box scores in the paper each day and, whenever possible, catch Baseball Tonight on ESPN. This season I am more excited than usual as I firmly believe one of my two favorite teams has a legitimate chance of going deep into the postseason.
