The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce will host the 2007 Ardmore Renaissance Faire from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 21, and Sunday, April 22 at the Park Avenue site across from the Ardmore Boys and Girls Club.

Walk through the gates and enter a world of music, history, excitement, and laughter. Shop the marketplace and indulge in the many delectable edibles. Test your own skills in the gaming glen with archery and chess exhibitions and instruction.

Witness the dashing and daring knights as they boast their own bravery by engaging in matches of sword and rapier fighting.

Enjoy live Celtic music and demonstrations of period crafts such as blacksmithing, chain mail and hand spinning.

The children’s area includes a Medieval Castle Bounce and many arts and crafts, as well as puppet shows on Saturday. Free activities for the little ones include the special prize competition called “Find the Villain”.

A pet costume contest will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. and prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed pet.

Vendors will be selling numerous items including: Fairies’ Wings, bath salts, candles, Wizard’s Tools, Ye Olde Weaponry for the aspiring Knights and young Lords, as well as dainty apparel for our Ladies in Waiting and young Princesses.

If love is in the air, and a Medieval wedding your desire, visit the website http://www.ardmore-renfaire.com for information on how you and your spouse can exchange vows at this year’s faire; however, if just a renewal of your love for your spouse is necessary, the faire sponsors can do that as well.

The 5th Annual Renaissance Faire is located on Park Avenue. Park Ave. is off Mainstreet just across from Sonic. The park area is not hard to find and will be a weekend of Ole’ Family Fun for all those who attend.
