Clem, Classmates Are Recognized

When THE DECATUR DAILY released the Class 4A-6A All-Area Basketball Team, five Ardmore players were included.

Matthew Clem was included on the second team while classmates Will Lewis, Duron Robinson, Shannon Fogg and Jennifer Mills received honorable mention.

Clem, the most recent Tiger to break the 1,000 point scoring mark, was included in the All-Area 15 Basketball Team, the Limestone County All Regular Season team announced at the Limestone County Tournament and THE NEWS-COURIER All-County Team.

At the recent Winter Sports Banquet, Clem was awarded permanent Co-Captain, the Most Valuable Player Award and the Best Free Throw Percentage Award.

Lewis, also a permanent Co-Captain, received the Best Defensive Player Award and the Assist Leader Award.

Robinson, an All-Area selection and a member of the All-County Regular Season team, received the Leading Rebounder Award at the recent banquet.

Fogg and Mills were members of the All-Area 15 Team, the All-County Regular Season Team and THE NEWS-COURIER Team.

Fogg received the Assist Leader Award and the Steal Leader Award and was named Co-Most Valuable Player.

Mills received the award for being the leading scorer and was name Co-Most Valuable Player.

Justin Pitts of Athens was the only other player from Limestone County included on the team. He was a third team pick.

Receiving honorable mention from Limestone County were Zach Brock and Jeremy Stinnett from Athens along with Mario Matthew and Dresden Williams.

On the girls side, Keonna Shoulders of Athens was included on the first team. Courtney Medlen of Athens and Danielle Jefferson of East Limestone were second team selections while East Limestone’s Emily Brackeen was a third team pick.

Receiving honorable mentions were Sierra Caudle, Jenae Strong and LeCreshia Horton while Eboni McCrary and Shanika Harris of East Limestone were included.
