Ardmore’s Lady Tigers Stop County Foes

The Ardmore Lady Tigers defeated West Limestone twice and Athens Bible School once last week in sandlot action. Ardmore began the week with a 9-3 win at Athens Bible School, then traveled to West Limestone Tuesday picking up a 14-3 win and returned home Thursday with a 6-1 win over West.

Casey Steadman threw a 2-hitter when the Ardmore Lady Tigers stopped the West Limestone Lady Wildcats 6-1 last Thursday.

Andrea Griggs hit a triple and scored in the opening inning for the lone Lady Wildcats’ run.

Jennifer Ratley hit a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the first for Ardmore. That base clearing hit allowed Steadman and Aarika Boggs to score.

Steadman and younger sister, Callie, scored in the third. Both drew a walk. Casey scored on Ratley’s double while Callie scored on Brittany Miles’ single.

Amy Collier’s sixth inning homerun accounted for the other Ardmore run.

Ratley hit a double and homerun for the winners while Collier hit a round-tripper, Miles two singles and Candice Mills a single.

Natalie Harrison’s single was the only other Lady Wildcat hit.

Ardmore 14, West Limestone 3

Casey Steadman hit a pair of homeruns and Aarika Boggs fashioned a 4-hitter to lead Ardmore to a 14-3 win at West Limestone last Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers scored a pair of runs on Steadman’s first inning homerun.

Natalie Harrison hit a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the first to give West their only lead.

Steadman hit a 2-run homerun in the third to give the lead back to Ardmore.

The Lady Tigers scored four runs in the fourth and six runs in the sixth.

Jennifer Ratley and Callie Steadman each hit a double for Ardmore. Boggs hit a pair of singles as Jada Norton, Amber Wise and Amy Collier each had a base hit.

Ardmore 9, Athens Bible School 3

Every Lady Tiger in the lineup got a base hit last Monday when the Ardmore Lady Tigers stopped Athens Bible School 9-3.

Casey Steadman picked up the pitching win while Abbie Melvin and Ashlee Eatson pitched for the Lady Trojans.

Amanda Ellis and Steadman each hit three singles. Hitting a double and single each were Callie Steadman, Amy Collier and Brittany Miles. Jada Norton hit a double as Aarika Boggs, Jennifer Ratley and Amber Wise each hit a single.

The Lady Trojans had eight hits, all singles. Hitting two singles each for ABS were Haley Chittam, Melvin and Kirsten McClure.

Ardmore scored three runs in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth and one in the sixth.
