Elkton Mile Long Yard Sale Slated For Saturday, April 15
The Elkton Historical Society will host a Mile Long Yard Sale on Saturday, April 15, 2006, beginning at 7 a.m. in Elkton, TN. The event will be held along U.S. Highway 31 between the Old Iron Bridge and Tennessee Highway 273 (Bryson Road).
Town Disbands Zoning Board Of Adjustment
The Town of Ardmore, AL Mayor and Town Council voted unanimously Monday night to formally dissolve the town's Zoning Board of Adjustment. The action came at the council's scheduled April meeting.
City's Purchase Of Additional Land Hits Roadblock
Members of the City of Ardmore, TN Board of Mayor and Aldermen continue to be in disagreement over the purchase of land on Main Street. At February's meeting, the board voted 4-3 to purchase a tract of land on Main Street, possibly for the purpose of building a new City Hall.

Fire Chief Tim Westwick Garners Gold Medal Award
Tim Westwick, Fire Chief with the Harvest Volunteer Fire Department, was recently presented with a resolution from the Alabama House of Representatives, commending him as the winner of the VFW Emergency Services Gold Medal Award for Outstanding Firefighter of the Year. |

AHS Holds Opening Ceremonies For New Softball Field
The Ardmore Lady Tigers Softball Team held opening ceremonies on Monday, April 3, at their new school field. Darrell Long, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Ardmore High School, opened the ceremony with several comments about the new field and how proud the school was to have such a nice facility on campus. Mr. Long recognized several people that were present at the ceremonies, followed by the reading of a long list of names of other volunteers, all of whom donated their time and money to making the field such a success. After all of the names were read, Stanley Davis threw the first pitch for both the Varsity and JV games. |

Tigers Drop A Double-Header To Red Devils
Ardmore High School's Varsity Baseball Team entertained the visiting Elkmont Red Devils last Thursday night in double-header action. Elkmont brought their bats with them and, after racking up hit after hit, came away with a sweep of the Tigers. |

Lady Tigers Come From Behind to Take Area Win
The Varsity Lady Tigers Softball Team defeated Lawrence County last Thursday, 10-8, after overcoming a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Ardmore out hit Westninister 16-5 last Monday, as they picked up a 10-4 victory in their first game on the new school softball field. Ardmore fell 1-0 to home standing East Limestone last Tuesday, after they scored their one and only run in the bottom of the sixth inning. |

Limestone County Triad Trail Ride Slated Saturday
The 11th Annual Limestone County Triad Trail Ride, sponsored by the Limestone County Sheriff's Office, the Athens Police Department, the Ardmore Police Department, S.A.L.T. Council and Limestone County A.A.R.P., will take place this Saturday, April 15.

Junior Varsity Lady Tigers Bats On a Roll
The Junior Varsity Lady Tigers Softball Team picked up two more season wins this week. On Monday, Ardmore defeated Sparkman Middle School 4-1 to pick up a victory on the new school field. The Lady Tigers hammered out eleven hits on Tuesday, to beat county rival East Limestone 6-0. On Thursday, Ardmore beat Lawrence County 6-4. |

Blanche Athletic Auction Huge Success
By all accounts, the 4th Annual Blanche Athletic Auction, held last Saturday at the school, was a marked success. According to Scott Woodfin, head football coach at Blanche, over $10,000 was raised for Blanche athletics for the second consecutive year.

Pitchers like Roger Clemens and Randy Johnson have become household names because they possess overpowering fastballs that consistently leave opposing hitters swinging at air. It is easy to see why both Clemens and Johnson are headed to the Hall of Fame.
