Garners Gold Medal Award

Tim Westwick, Fire Chief with the Harvest Volunteer Fire Department, was recently presented with a resolution from the Alabama House of Representatives, commending him as the winner of the VFW Emergency Services Gold Medal Award for Outstanding Firefighter of the Year.

Westwick has been a member of the Harvest Volunteer Fire Department since May, 1998 and was elected as Chief of the department in January 2004.

Westwick was recognized and honored for his exceptional service that included heroic efforts that saved the lives of three children during a 45-day period.

He has lived in Alabama for the past 18 years and is employed by Diebold as a field technician.
