Make Plans To Enjoy This Weekend Of Renaissance
The Ardmore Renaissance Faire is scheduled for this weekend, Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd, at the Ardmore Town Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The charge of admission is $2 or $1 if in costume.


Hobbs Furniture Plans 39th Annual Red Tag Sale
The staff of Hobbs Furniture in Ardmore will be celebrating this weekend with the 39th Annual Hobbs Furniture Red Tag Sale The sale will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 19, 20 and 21 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.



Customer Appreciation Day Is Friday
First American Bank will be celebrating 11 years of service in Ardmore with Customer Appreciation Day Friday, April 20. The celebration will be held at the bank located at 30010 Ardmore Avenue and will feature great food, grilled by bank employees and served in a friendly, cordial atmosphere. Food will be served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.


Library Celebrates 30th Anniversary
On April 23, the Ardmore Public Library will celebrate its 30-year anniversary. As part of this celebration, the library will accept names of individuals that come into the library for a drawing of a $50 gift basket donated by the Friends of the Library.


Historical Society Mile-Long Yard Sale Set
The 6th Annual Elkton Mile-Long Yard Sale will be Saturday, April 21, beginning at 7 a.m. The annual event is sponsored by the Elkton Historical Society.


Pre-Register This Week
Limestone County Schools will hold pre-registration for kindergarten students who will enter school this fall on Thursday, April 19. Parents whose children will enter the public kindergarten classes in Limestone County for the 2007-2008 school year are requested to pre-register the child at the school where the child will attend.


Ardmore’s Lady Tigers Split Area Games
A win over East Limestone and a loss at Madison County makes this Thursday’s contest against East Limestone even bigger for the Ardmore Lady Tigers. The two teams will meet at 4:30 p.m. at Ardmore High School.


Tigers Stop Mustangs
The Ardmore Tigers stopped the Madison Academy Mustangs 3-0 in soccer action last week.


Lady Tigers Split Tourney
The Ardmore Lady Tigers held their own before the rains came Saturday in the Metro-Kiwanis Tournament at the Huntsville Sportsplex on Friday.


Junior Tigers Stop Madison Co. Mustangs
Caleb Lindsey earned the pitching win when the Ardmore Junior Tigers defeated Madison County 3-0.


Tigers end sandlot season too soon
The hopes of a baseball playoff berth were ended last week when the Madison County Tigers stopped the Ardmore Tigers twice. The Tigers had a rough week being shut-out at Richland Monday 17-0 and then falling to Madison County 7-0 at home on Tuesday and then 6-2 at Gurley on Thursday. With the losses the season ends.


Talkin’ Baseball
Toward the end of last week, I watched part of a Cubs game on WGN and witnessed Alfonso Soriano enjoy adventures at his new position of centerfield. As most of you may remember, Soriano came up as a second baseman with the Yankees and moved to the outfield last year while playing for the Nationals. Upon arriving at the Cubs’ spring training camp in Arizona, Soriano learned he would have a new challenge this season: patrolling centerfield at Wrigley.
