Weekend Of Renaissance

The Ardmore Renaissance Faire is scheduled for this weekend, Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd, at the Ardmore Town Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The charge of admission is $2 or $1 if in costume.

Come enjoy a weekend of living history where Menagerie Music will perform medieval music including singing and the playing of the hammered dulcimer, guitar, flute and penny whistle.

Guests are welcome to bring their pets on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the Pet Costume Contest where prizes will be awarded for the best dressed animals.

The Society for Creating Anachronism will perform fighting with swords and rapier, they will teach English Country Dance and May Poole. Byron Boyd will perform with several instruments as well a performance by the Boyd Chapel Puppeteers.

Test your luck in the Gaming Glen in archery and chess exhibitions. A free children’s area will include a Castle Jump and a period arts and crafts area.

Merchants will be selling many items including Faire’s wings, bath salts, candles, Wizard’s tools, Ye Olde Weaponry for aspiring Knights and Young Lords, and dainty apparel for the Ladies in Waiting and Young Princesses.
