Pre-Register This Week

Limestone County Schools will hold pre-registration for kindergarten students who will enter school this fall on Thursday, April 19. Parents whose children will enter the public kindergarten classes in Limestone County for the 2007-2008 school year are requested to pre-register the child at the school where the child will attend.

Students may be registered at Cedar Hill Elementary from 8:00 until 2:00 and from 6:00 until 7:30 on Thursday, April 19 in the school cafeteria. Kindergarten students may also be registered at Clements, Creekside, Elkmont, Johnson, Owens, Piney Chapel, Reid, Tanner and West Limestone at those times.

Children must be five years old on or before September 1, 2007. When registering, the parent must provide the child’s birth certificate and social security card. Every student must provide a certificate of immunization from either the Health Department or personal physician before entering school in Alabama. The certificate of immunization is not mandatory for pre-registration. Proof of Chicken pox immunization must also be included for a student enrolling in grades K-6 for the 2007-2008 school year.

A proof of residence is required for all students and custody papers are required if the child does not live with both birth parents.

Blanche School will hold registration through April 20 for students entering Pre-K and Kindergarten at Blanche in the fall. Students may be registered in the school office from 8:00 until 3:00 on those days.

Students entering Pre-K must be four years old by September 30. Kindergarten students must be five years old by September 30.

When registering a child, parents should bring a copy of the birth certificate and social security card. Upon entering in August students must have an up-to-date Tennessee immunization record and an up-to-date physical examination.
