Summer Reading Program

Ardmore Public Library's 2006 Summer Reading Program got a boost last Friday when representatives from First National Bank appeared at the facility to make a donation.

Library Director Verlin Collins accepted the donation on behalf of the library from Joe Douthit and Betty Bryant of First National Bank.

The theme of this year's summer reading program is "Jungle Tales: Hiss, Rumble and Roar."

As is customary, the library is planning a four-week program filled with fun and activity for children between the ages of three and twelve.

Last year's program reached over 150 children and, according to Collins, the library hopes to reach an even higher number this year.

Along with the program, the library tries to give incentives to children in order to promote encouragement for reaching goals in reading.

The Summer Reading Program will begin on Wednesday, June 21 and run for four consecutive Wednesdays, ending on July 12.

The program will be held in the City of Ardmore, TN City Hall Annex.
