Superintendent Of Education Carroll Holds Public Meeting On Proposed Sales Tax Hike
A group of nearly 70 interested citizens assembled in the library at Ardmore High School on Monday night to hear a presentation by Limestone County Board of Education Superintendent Barry Carroll regarding the board’s plans to deal with current and future challenges facing Limestone County educators, as well as a proposed one-cent sales tax hike, earmarked to fund critical capital projects.


Historical Society Hosts Noted Author, Historian
The Elkton Historical Society will host Dr. Michael Bradley, noted author and historian for their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 1, at 7:00. The meeting will be held at Terri’s Restaurant located on 31 Highway, next door to Lib’s Grocery in Elkton, TN.


Ardmore Seniors Honored By Delta Kappa Gamma
Ardmore High School Seniors Lauren Atchley and Catherine Taylor and their parents were recently honored at a tea at Athens State University.


Ardmore Library Holds 30th Anniversary Celebration
The Ardmore Public Library held a 30th Anniversary Celebration Friday, April 20. Author Bill Hunt held a book reading at 8:30 a.m. Hunt, a resident of Athens, AL, is the author of “The Last Witness From A Dirt Road”. A group of Giles County High School honor students attended the reading.


Benefit Saturday For Elkins Family
A Benefit for Sharon and Dan Elkins will be held Saturday, April 28, beginning at 10 a.m. at the lot beside City Café in Ardmore. The event, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 14, at the Dollar General Market, was rescheduled for April 28 due to inclement weather.



Soccer Season Comes To A Halt
The Ardmore Lady Tigers soccer team closed out their season with a 1-0 win over the Lady Rebels of West Morgan.


Lady Tigers Finish 4th In County Tournament
The Ardmore Lady Tigers finished fourth in the seven-team Limestone County Softball Tournament last Saturday at Clements. Ardmore opened the meet with a 3-2 win over Elkmont on Friday before falling to East Limestone 10-0 later than evening. On Saturday Ardmore edged Athens Bible School 1-0 before falling 13-2 to Elkmont.


Titans Odom, Thompson Will Visit Elkton School
Tennessee Titans’ defensive end and former University of Alabama star Antwan Odom, along with Titans’ safety Lamont Thompson will pay a visit to Elkton School on Thursday, April 26. Later in the day, the pair of Titan standouts will also make appearances in Pulaski and Huntsville.


Homerun Lifts Ardmore Over East Limestone
A 3-run homerun in the bottom of the seventh gave the Ardmore Lady Tigers a 4-3 win over visiting East Limestone last Thursday. It was a win over Madison Academy and a loss to Elkmont earlier in the week as the regular season continues for the Ardmore Lady Tigers softball. Last Monday Ardmore returned from Madison Academy with a 4-1 win while on Tuesday Ardmore dropped a 1-0 decision to Elkmont.


Junior Lady Tigers Are Top Seed In County Meet
Six softball teams will invade Ardmore Friday and Saturday with one goal in mind: capturing the county championship.
