Ardmore Library Holds
30th Anniversary Celebration

The Ardmore Public Library held a 30th Anniversary Celebration Friday, April 20. Author Bill Hunt held a book reading at 8:30 a.m. Hunt, a resident of Athens, AL, is the author of “The Last Witness From A Dirt Road”. A group of Giles County High School honor students attended the reading.

Later the library hosted brunch for the Friends of the Library, volunteers, board members and employees.

“We would like to thank everyone who helped with our anniversary celebration,” said Librarian Verlin Collins.

Plaques of appreciation were presented to the City of Ardmore and to Shirley Hendrix for their continued support throughout the 30 years.

All patrons who visited the library on Friday were invited to register for a gift basket given away by the Friends of the Library. Catherine McFarlen was the winner.

Currently the library has over 4,000 patrons and is steadily growing. It still remains a free service to the community through support of the local government and is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
