Ardmore Lady Tigers Win Two

The Ardmore Lady Tigers stopped a pair of good teams in sandlot action last week. On Monday Ardmore won at Tanner 4-3 and then defeated Decatur 3-2 in 10 innings.

Amber Wise drove in the deciding run in the bottom of the 10th when Ardmore edged Decatur 3-2.
With the game deadlocked 2-2 in the bottom of the 10th Casey Steadman drew a walk with one out. She moved to third on Jennifer Ratley’s single and scored when Wise hit into a fielder’s choice.
The Lady Raiders scored a single run in the first and again in the sixth. Leadoff batter Whitney Fletcher walked and scored three batters later when Megan Whitten hit a double.
The Lady Tigers tied the score when Aarika Boggs reached first on an infield error and scored when Wise hit into a fielder’s choice.
Steadman scored on a wild pitch to give Ardmore their first lead of the game. She walked and advanced when Ratley got a base hit. She scored on a wild pitch.
Decatur knotted the score in their next turn at bat. With one out Lindsey Hawkins hit a double and scored when Megan Whitten hit a double.
Wise heroics in the bottom of the 10th ended the contest.
Steadman went the distance for the winners striking out 18 and walking four. She allowed three hits.
Ratley had three of Ardmore’s six hits. Casey Steadman added a pair of singles while Callie Steadman had the other ht.
Ardmore 4, Tanner 3
Ardmore scored a single run in the third and three in the fourth to hang on for a 4-3 win over Tanner on the Lady Rattler’s home field Monday.
Casey Steadman pitched a 4-hitter while striking out 15 and walking four.
Kayla Thompson scored the initial run for Ardmore. After hitting a double and stealing third she scored on Amber Wise’s fielder’s choice.
Ardmore scored three times in the fourth to increase their lead. With one out Jada Norton was hit by a pitch, Kelsey Gilbert hit a single before Brittany Miles’ double scored a pair of runs. Miles scored on Steadman’s single.
Tanner scored twice in the bottom of that inning when Alex Bohanan hit a double and Christian Stephens a homerun.
Haley Keenum scored for the Lady Rattlers, hit a single and scored on Hollye Keenum’s single.
Ashley Hines and Haley Keenum pitched for Tanner.
Casey Steadman led the winners with a single and two doubles. Miles hit a triple and Thompson a double. Callie Steadman hit two singles and Kelsey Gilbert one.
Ardmore’s bid for post season play begins Thursday when they host the area meet. Three teams are competing for their season to continue. They are Ardmore, East Limestone and Madison County. Two teams will advance to the next level while one team will be eliminated. An area champion should be crowned on Friday.
