ABS Trojans are only Tiger foe in playoffs

The Athens Bible School Trojans advanced to the third round of the state baseball playoffs Saturday after defeating Gaston. ABS won the opening game 4-1 and took the nightcap 12-4. They are the only team on the Ardmore schedule that remains alive in the state playoffs.
The Trojans opened their championship bid earlier in the week with a 16-1 win over Valley Head. In the first round West Limestone fell to Holly Pond 4-2 and East Limestone fell to Lawrence County 9-3.
Madison County, the champion in Ardmore’s region, stopped East Lawrence 10-0 early last week. Saturday the Tigers fell to Oneonta 1-4 and 8-5 over the weekend.
