The Ardmore, AL/TN Civitan Bean Day held last Saturday was a success! Why? Because the businesses and people of the Ardmore community stepped up to help-as always.

Our deepest appreciation goes to the City of Ardmore, the Dollar General Market, Marvin’s, Whitt’s, YOUR COMMUNITY SHOPPER, WSLV-AM, and the good cooks of Ardmore. A special thank you to Cash Point’s Pickin’ & Grinnin’ Peggy and Calvin Holt, and Jackie Case and Allan Crews who so generously gave of their time to entertain everyone with our favorite kind of music.

Because of your participation, Ardmore Civitan is able to continue helping those less fortunate in our community.

It is time to do it again! Our 13th Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event is scheduled for May 6, 2006, at the south end of Sam Davis Park from 10:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M.

Here is your annual opportunity to rid your household of left-over paints, aerosols, pesticides, used automotive fluids, batteries, and cleaners. NO explosives, radioactive materials or commercial wastes will be accepted. This event is for residential waste only.

In years past thanks to the good people of Giles County, our participation percentage level has consistently exceeded the state average. I hope this year’s event will continue the trend.

This HHW event is sponsored in part by the Tennessee Department of Conservation, University of Tennessee Extension Service, Giles county Litter Grant Program, Interlocal Solid Waste Authority, BFI, City of Pulaski, and Giles County.

If you have any questions please call the Office of Solid Waste Manager at 424-7035.

We hope to see you on May 6th. Thank you.
