Evelyn McDaniels Barber

Evelyn McDaniels Barber, 83, of Blanche Road, Ardmore, TN, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL.

Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, May 8, at 10 a.m. at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore. Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn was born in Elizabethtown, KY, on March 26, 1924. She was a member of the New Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Henry “Dick” Barber.

Survivors include two sons, Joe (Donna) Barber of Blanche, TN, and Robert (Charlotte) Barber of Ardmore, AL; daugher, Jane (Randy) Groce of Fayetteville, TN; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Marcus Sidney Medders

Marcus Sidney Medders, 61, of Main Street, Ardmore, TN, formerly of Huntsville, AL, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at his home.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge.

Marcus Sidney Medders was born March 27, 1946, in Anniston, AL, to Marcus Areal Medders and Mary Elizabeth Haynes. He has lived in Ardmore for two years coming from Huntsville. He was an auto mechanic and of the Church of Christ faith. Mr. Medders was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pat Wilson.

Survivors include his son, Brian Medders of Anniston, AL; brothers, Michael Medders and Kenneth Medders both of Anniston, AL; sisters, Janice Sanford of Ardmore, TN, and Clarice Ragland of Huntsville, AL; and two grandchildren, Holly and Lucy Medders.
