There is one thing we have been having plenty of…sunshine! However some of our shrubbery that was frozen around Easter isn’t putting out any new green sprouts yet. Hopefully they will soon. I don’t remember seeing this much damage from a late freeze. We have several flowers blooming. The snowball bushes are blooming some of the smallest blooms. I believe the freeze caused that this year. Due to conflicts with other activities, the May meeting of the Oak Grove Homemakers Club has been moved forward one week to May 9. The club activities start at 9:30 a.m. with a cleaning of the clubhouse. Bring a covered dish to share with lunch after the cleaning. There will be a short business meeting. Robert’s garden is beginning to show up. He has had some items planted since mid March, but only a couple of plants were up when the freeze came. The other seeds must to have wanted to wait till the chance of a freeze was gone before they immerged.
